Ramona Chauvin, Ph.D., is a senior technical assistance consultant at AIR. Dr. Chauvin works with the Southeast and Texas Comprehensive Centers to build the capacity of state and regional education staff to assist schools and districts in need of improvement. Highlights of Dr. Chauvin’s qualifications include reading/language arts/writing instruction (K–12); adolescent literacy; coaching; instructional monitoring and feedback; assessment; leadership; teacher quality and effectiveness; and professional learning communities (PLCs).
Dr. Chauvin's current and recent projects include integrating literacy strategies with Mississippi’s career and technical education program, helping to write Georgia’s statewide PreK–12 literacy plan, providing professional development sessions on adolescent/academic literacy and college and career ready standards, and providing technical assistance and professional development for educators of English learners. She also provides technical assistance and training in systemic school improvement to districts and schools in states across the southeastern and southwestern U.S.
Dr. Chauvin has more than 25 years of teaching experience in grades 5–12 and 13 years of teaching experience in higher education institutions in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Washington.
