Grading Practices for Student Report Cards

SCDE is looking for studies and other research regarding state requirements for schools to issue conduct, punctuality, and effort grades.  These grades will be issued to every student and become a part of a student's report card and permanent record.  SCDE wants to  determine which states or districts are currently requiring the use of conduct, punctuality, and/or effort grades as a part  of the student report card and are they calculated as a part of a high school student's GPA.

What, if any, studies have been conducted to determine if the use of conduct, punctuality, and/or effort grades has had an impact on student achievement.
